In the early hours of Monday (16th), Virginia police found an alligator casually walking outside a motel in Fairfax County. The video went viral on the police’s social media.
The incident occurred about 30 kilometers from Washington, DC. Tourists called authorities to report an alligator at their room’s door. The animal was nearly 2 meters long.

“Wow! That’s an alligator! There really is an alligator outside the hotel,” exclaimed one of the officers in the video shared by the Fairfax County Police Department.
According to official information, the reptile was being transported from New York to a zoo in North Carolina.
The alligator escaped during a rest stop. The owner was escorted out of the state of Virginia, as state law prohibits possession of exotic animals, except in special cases such as elephant rides.
